While nothing is confirmed, Berachain has made it clear that the testnet will be “incentivized” (DYOR NFA). It's also a great opportunity to discover promising apps before the mainnet.

In this guide, we’ll run through some of the ways you can interact with the Berachain testnet, including some of our very own favorite ones.

Artio Vs bArtio

Berachain had two testnets. The v1 testnet was called Artio, but it couldn't handle the large volume of transactions, which caused many glitches and failures, leading to frustration among users.

In June, a v2 testnet called bArtio was released with a more modular approach, which replaced the old Artio entirely (more info).

Everything has been smooth since then. That's why, when using the Berachain testnet, be sure to only use bArtio.
